Horizon Music Studio was founded in 2024 by Jessica Chen, with the dream of sharing the joy of learning and making music with the next generation. At Horizon Music Studio, the unique interests and background of each student are viewed as an asset and incorporated into their musical journey. Students will learn how to define, work toward, and accomplish personalized musical goals. Through regular lessons, practice, and performance opportunities, students develop comfortable and fluid musical technique, a range of musicianship skills, and tools for artistic expression. The underlying philosophy at Horizon Music Studio is that music education can be in service of character development, drawing inspiration from Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s idea: “beautiful tone, beautiful heart”.

About The Suzuki Method

At the heart of the Suzuki Method are the core beliefs that music education serves as a powerful vehicle for character development, and that every child has the ability to develop musical ability. Also called the “mother-tongue method”, Dr. Suzuki’s innovative approach to music learning follows the steps of language acquisition: listening, speaking (playing), and then reading. In the Suzuki Method, learning music is a family experience through the ‘Suzuki Triangle’ partnership between teacher, parents, and student.

At Horizon Music Studio, the Suzuki Method is recommended for young students and beginners of all ages. Principles of the Suzuki Method are incorporated alongside other music pedagogies at all levels of instruction. To learn more about the Suzuki Method, please visit the SAA website.
